project brief

This project involved the safe decommissioning, relocation, and recommissioning of specialist industrial machinery as part of a wider site upgrade. The scope covered everything from electrical strip-down and isolation at the original location through to power distribution, lighting installation, and final commissioning at the new site. Careful coordination was required to minimise downtime, protect sensitive equipment, and ensure the machinery was fully operational and compliant once reinstalled.

The challenge

Relocating industrial machinery presents significant technical and logistical challenges, particularly when dealing with complex electrical systems and tight operational timeframes. The existing equipment had to be electrically decommissioned in a controlled manner, with all components clearly match-marked and documented to ensure accurate reassembly. Any errors at this stage could have resulted in delays, safety risks, or costly faults during In addition, the new location required upgraded electrical infrastructure to support the machinery safely and efficiently. This included installing a new 200A local distribution board, providing reliable three-phase power supplies, and improving working conditions through modern LED lighting. All works needed to be completed while maintaining strict safety standards and allowing the machinery to be levelled and commissioned to precise manufacturer tolerances.

project goals

The primary objective of the project was to deliver a seamless transition of machinery from the original site to the new location, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and full compliance with electrical and safety standards. This included maintaining accuracy throughout the dismantling and reinstallation process, upgrading the electrical environment, and ensuring the machinery was fully operational and production-ready upon handover.

  • Electrical decommissioning, match-marking, and strip-down of machinery

  • Installation of a 200A local distribution board, three-phase power supplies, and LED lighting

  • Precision levelling and commissioning of machinery at the new location

the result

The project was completed successfully, with all machinery safely decommissioned, relocated, and recommissioned without incident. The new electrical infrastructure provides robust, compliant power distribution and improved lighting, creating a safer and more efficient working environment. Accurate match-marking and methodical reassembly ensured the machinery was commissioned smoothly, achieving precise alignment and optimal performance. The client was left with a fully operational setup, ready to return to production with confidence and minimal downtime.
